Role Overview:


As an

Assistant Manager - Audit

, you will play a critical role in managing audit engagements, owning client relationships, and supporting the delivery of high-quality audit outcomes. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, while collaborating closely with Partners, Managers, and audit teams.
This role is ideal for professionals who are technically strong, commercially aware, and motivated to develop people while delivering value to clients.

Job Role & Responsibilities

Client & Engagement Management

Own and manage a portfolio of audit clients with minimal supervision. Foster long-term, trusted client relationships through proactive communication and sound technical advice. Support the achievement of engagement-level revenue, margin, and delivery targets. Review audit files and accounts for complex clients, ensuring compliance with professional and regulatory standards.

Audit Delivery & Technical Oversight

Plan, manage, and close audit engagements end-to-end, ensuring quality, timelines, and risk management. Lead audit teams through the full audit cycle, providing direction, review, and timely feedback. Apply working knowledge of

IFRS and UK GAAP

to address complex audit and accounting matters. Identify audit risks, assess implications, and recommend practical solutions.

Team Leadership & People Development

Act as a coach and mentor to junior team members, providing both technical and day-to-day guidance. Support performance management activities including appraisals, development planning, and on-the-job coaching. Contribute to workforce planning and resourcing across audits throughout the year. Work collaboratively with Partners and fellow Managers to balance workloads and develop team capability.

Practice & Management Contribution

Operate as part of the audit management team, contributing to department planning and operational effectiveness. Support initiatives aligned to the firm's people strategy, culture, and long-term capability building. Promote best practices in audit execution, documentation, and client service.

Qualifications & Expertise

ACA / ACCA / CA (or equivalent)

- fully qualified. 4+ years of experience post CA qualification in Statutory Audit. Strong working knowledge of

IFRS and UK GAAP is essential

. Proven experience auditing clients across multiple industries. Experience planning and reviewing audits, including managing teams through the audit lifecycle. Demonstrated ability to handle more complex audit engagements and client issues.
