Role Overview
The AWS Manager is responsible for end-to-end ownership of AWS cloud operations, security, governance, and reliability. This is an onsite, senior role requiring deep hands-on expertise combined with operational and leadership responsibility across SOC, NOC, AWS Administration, Control Tower governance, IAM, and support functions.
The role ensures AWS environments are secure, compliant, highly available, and operationally mature, while coordinating closely with engineering, security, and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Cloud Governance & AWS Administration

• Own and manage AWS environments across multiple accounts and regions.
• Lead implementation and ongoing management of AWS Control Tower, including landing zones, OUs, guardrails, and account baselines.
• Govern AWS Organizations, account provisioning, and lifecycle management.
• Define and enforce cloud governance, security baselines, and operational standards.

Identity & Access Management (IAM)

• Own IAM strategy covering roles, policies, permission boundaries, SCPs, and IAM Access Analyzer.
• Enforce least-privilege access, MFA, and SSO integrations.
• Lead periodic access reviews, privileged access management, and audit remediation.
• Act as final approver for critical access and security exceptions.

Security Operations (SOC Oversight

• Lead AWS security monitoring using CloudTrail, Guard Duty, Security Hub, and SIEM tools.
• Oversee investigation, containment, and remediation of security incidents
• Ensure encryption, logging, key management, and network security controls are enforced.
• Support compliance initiatives (ISO 27001, SOC 2, internal and external audits).

Network & Infrastructure Operations (NOC Oversight)

• Ensure high availability, performance, and resilience of AWS infrastructure.
• Oversee monitoring, alerting, incident management, RCA, and service restoration.
• Manage SLAs, SLOs, on-call rotations, and operational KPIs.

Automation, Reliability & Cost Governance

• Drive automation using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation) and AWS-native services.
• Own backup, disaster recovery (DR), and business continuity planning.
• Lead FinOps and cost-optimization initiatives in partnership with finance and engineering teams.

Support, Coordination & Leadership

• Serve as the primary onsite AWS escalation point.
• Coordinate with engineering, DevOps, security, and business teams.
• Oversee service requests, change management, and escalations.
• Maintain and govern SOPs, runbooks, and operational documentation.
• Mentor AWS engineers and operations staff.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 8 10 years of experience in cloud infrastructure and operations, with strong AWS focus.
• Proven hands-on experience managing AWS Control Tower and multi-account environments.
• Deep expertise in IAM, SCPs, permission boundaries, and access governance.
• Strong experience leading SOC and NOC operations in AWS environments.
• Solid understanding of AWS networking, security, monitoring, and operational best practices.
• Experience with ITIL-based incident, problem, and change management.

Preferred Qualifications:

• AWS certifications: Solutions Architect Professional, Security Specialty, SysOps Administrator.
• Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, CI/CD pipelines.
• Exposure to DevSecOps, SRE, and FinOps practices.
• Experience working in compliance-driven or regulated environments.
• Prior team leadership or mentoring experience.
