Role Overview

As an Infrastructure Engineer with expertise in AWS Cloud Development Kit (AWS CDK) using TypeScript, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, secure cloud infrastructure through modern Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices.

You will leverage your deep knowledge of TypeScript including interfaces, types, classes, and generics along with the Node.js ecosystem to build reusable CDK constructs that define and manage AWS resources efficiently.

What does day-to-day look like

Design, develop, and maintain AWS infrastructure as code using AWS CDK with TypeScript. Migrate and build scalable cloud networks and applications, including VPCs with public/private subnets, NAT gateways, security groups, and EC2/Lambda deployments. Author reusable TypeScript constructs implementing interfaces, classes, generics, and types to model infrastructure components. Use AWS CDK CLI commands (cdk synth, cdk deploy) to synthesize and deploy stacks to target AWS regions (e.g., us-west-2). Manage Node.js package dependencies using npm for CDK projects. Write unit tests for CDK constructs and infrastructure code using Jest. Debug and troubleshoot infrastructure deployment errors and runtime issues in AWS environments. Collaborate with cloud architects and DevOps teams to ensure best practices for secure and highly available cloud infrastructure. Provide well-documented, clean, and maintainable CDK code to facilitate automation and operational efficiency.

Requirements

Strong proficiency with

AWS Cloud Development Kit (AWS CDK) in TypeScript.

Solid experience with TypeScript fundamentals: interfaces, types, classes, generics. Practical knowledge of Node.js environment and npm package management. Experience writing unit tests for infrastructure code using Jest or similar frameworks. Hands-on experience managing AWS infrastructure components such as Lambda, EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, Subnets, NAT Gateways, and Security Groups. Proficient with CDK CLI tools: synth, deploy, diff, etc. Experience designing and implementing secure, scalable AWS networks with private/public subnet architectures. Ability to debug infrastructure issues, understand CloudFormation stack failures, and troubleshoot runtime problems. Familiarity with AWS best practices for security, cost optimization, and high availability. Excellent problem-solving skills with a pragmatic approach to cloud infrastructure automation. Strong English communication skills with ability to write technical documentation clearly and comprehensively.
