RESPONSIBILITIES
o Be responsible for code that designs, provisions, configures, automates, monitors, and supports the AWS Cloud Platform
o Enhance the Cloud Platform to accelerate cloud adoption by developing platform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to support global business applications and operations. This role will have a focus on the foundational capabilities of AWS:
o Networking
o Identity
o Security and compliance
o Observability
o Assist in the development of processes and practices to support migration of workloads to public cloud
o Through automation, enforce continuous compliance to industry operation and security standards
o Develop code to support the safe orchestration and release of infrastructure, applications, and Workloads to Cloud environments
o Follow best practice around code management, such as source control, pull requests, artefacts, and deployment packages
o Work to agile principles of Epics, Stories, Sprints to deliver code at the right time as guided by the Product Owner/Manager
o Implement security best practices to protect sensitive data and maintain compliance with industry regulations
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as DevOps, Security, and Application Development, to ensure seamless integration and deployment of cloud solutions
o Assist in setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to streamline the deployment of applications and infrastructure.
o Continuously update your knowledge of new AWS services and features and assess their potential impact or benefit to the organization's cloud strategy
o Share knowledge and mentor junior team members
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
o 5+ years' experience in AWS cloud engineering
o Have a code-first/automate-everything attitude
o Experience of managing public/private cloud technologies on AWS in a large-scale enterprise environment.
o Relevant degree or diploma programme of study.
o Experience with one or more Infrastructure as Code Languages: Terraform, ARM, Ansible, Chef, Puppet. Terraform is preferred
o Experience writing code in at least one of the following languages: Java, .NET, Node.js, PHP, Python, Ruby, PowerShell, Go(lang), Rust. Python is preferred
o Experience of working to DevOps principles and in an Agile environment.
o Familiarity with the Git version control platforms.
o Troubleshooting experience in virtual/ cloud infrastructures
o Proven experience of working within supplier-led service delivery models
o Proven ability to succeed in collaborative work environments using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
o Expert level knowledge of AWS with associated certifications.
o Proficient in developing Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) to automate the AWS Cloud Platform.
o Experience in automated testing supporting operational readiness checks.
