Role Summary/Purpose: The AVP, Lead Data Protection Engineer within the Information Security organization will be responsible for delivering technical leadership across multiple enterprise-wide data protection technologies used to safeguard and secure the organization\'s data, including Protegrity, Splunk, DLP, and BigID. This includes designing, engineering and improving these capabilities or the policy configurations for them, as required, to identify, detect, and protect data as well as building insightful operational dashboards to ensure leadership visibility into the operational status of those systems. This Lead Engineer will be responsible for the development, implementation and improvement of different data protection capabilities to address current and emerging threats and requirements. The ideal candidate will have a proven record of delivery in engineering, maintaining and running enterprise-wide technologies at scale and with redundancy. Excellent communication skills required to work across teams and with other Engineering Leads within InfoSec Technology Engineering. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required to guide, influence, and convince others as well as to present leadership with alternative approaches and technical requirements. Essential Responsibilities: Responsible for designing and building effective capabilities to protect and safeguard the organization\'s data in collaboration with other team members. Engineer and support the Data Protection security service within Information Security and ensure learnings are incorporated into roadmaps. Stay current with emerging threat landscape and develop/enhance capabilities and strategies to safeguard the business from various threats while working to ensure that implementation of these capabilities is easy to incorporate for our development partners. Support the organization through any incidents related to tooling and/or capabilities. Ensure proper documentation of capabilities Work with Information Security Architecture to ensure proper designs are implemented and engineered effectively into capabilities and tech stacks Act as a subject matter expert to assist with solving enterprise problems, especially as it relates to the Data Protection Security tools and capabilities. Work with Leadership to develop a strong Data Protection engineering excellence program focused on automation and efficiency as well as effective change and incident management processes. Builds technical expertise across the team, coaching and mentoring others. Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor\'s degree with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in Information Security, Engineering, Application Development, or related field, or in lieu of a degree, minimum 7+ years equivalent work experience in Information Security, Engineering, Application Development, or related field Minimum 2 years of experience in an engineering leadership role Certified AWS, Certified Security - Specialty and/or AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate For Internal Applicants : Understand the criteria or mandatory skills required for the role, before applying. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Security Auditor (CISA), and/or Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) Proven strong decision-making capabilities, with a proven track record of weighing the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and identifying the most appropriate one Demonstrated technical expertise in existing security and IT systems and an ability to keep pace with changing security and IT technologies Strong interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on demonstrating previous experience effectively influencing others within the organization and cross functionally A team-focused mentality with proven experience to work effectively with diverse stakeholders Information Technology
