Job Description


: Role Summary/Purpose: The role of AVP, Collections & Recovery Advanced Analytics will be responsible for developing analytical solutions to drive action-oriented results and introduce new, more statistically rigorous processes to the department. The AVP is a thought leader in the team, initiating and leading initiatives as well as projects, working directly with stakeholders throughout the process, from initial discussions to presenting findings and results and consulting on execution. This is a key role in the success of the department and will partner cross functionally to help drive the team's analytical vision. “This position is remote, where you have the option to work from home. On occasion we may request for you to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and culture events. We’re proud to offer you choice and flexibility.” Essential Responsibilities:

  • Conduct statistical factor analysis on Collections & Recovery Design of Experiments tests to isolate and quantify impacts from individual drivers
  • Perform lifetime value analysis to understand and assess true account value for better segmentation and targeting
  • Use optimization techniques to help maximize impact of segmentation strategies
  • Assess existing and new account and customer level attributes from internal data sources, partners and external data sources. Partner cross functionally to brainstorm, prioritize, create and evaluate new attributes to determine if the new attributes are incrementally predictive vs. champion segmentation
  • Use proxy control techniques to create statistically comparable populations to evaluate true incremental benefits from challenger strategies
  • Develop statistical segmentations to prioritize accounts for contact strategies, channel assignment, value based offers, etc.
  • Work independently, manage and complete key initiatives and projects under tight deadlines
  • Ability to provide analytical support including pulling data, preparing analysis, interpreting data, making strategic recommendations, and presenting to various audiences
  • Track results of strategies and foster a "test and learn" culture through ongoing performance assessment
  • Partner with Strategy Delivery, Process teams and Operations to ensure strategies are working correctly
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects and analyses as needed
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
  • Develop process controls and create documentation as needed

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in a Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, business or a quantitative field
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in data analytics to support strategic decisions
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience of advanced SQL, SAS
  • Prior Credit / Risk Management or Collection Strategy experience
  • Ability to work with large or complex datasets
  • Strong PC proficiency

Desired Characteristics:
  • Master's degree in Business or in a Quantitative Related Field
  • 2+ years of experience in Data mining and E-Miner / similar decision tree software
  • Proven analytical and decision-making skills
  • Experience with model development techniques such as linear regression, logistic regression, random forest and etc.
  • Experience developing scoring models or decision-tree segmentations
  • Ability to independently manage processes and drive continuous process improvement
  • Strong communications, problem solving skills & attention to detail
  • Experience presenting to senior leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to apply strategic thinking toward tactical execution
  • Experience working with cross-functional project teams
