Role Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented AV CAD Engineer to support the design and documentation of Audio-Visual and Low Voltage systems. The role involves translating design intent, sketches, and architectural drawings into accurate and coordinated CAD documentation while working closely with design, project, and installation teams.
Key Skills & Qualifications
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory; familiarity with Autodesk Revit is an added advantage.
Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience in AV, Low Voltage, or construction-related CAD drafting.
Ability to work from designers' sketches and architectural blueprints to develop accurate drawings.
Experience in drafting for construction, AV, or low-voltage projects is preferred.
High attention to detail with consistent use of layer management, block libraries, and drawing templates.
Ability to read and interpret architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) drawings and coordinate across disciplines.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to clearly understand design intent and incorporate feedback.
A collaborative, team-oriented mindset with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
Understand different cable types, connector types, and routing details, and represent them clearly in drawings.
Develop detailed AV schematics, including audio, video, and control signal flow and wiring diagrams.
Produce architectural documentation such as equipment layouts, floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, and elevation views.
Coordinate AV drawings with other building systems to identify conflicts and provide effective solutions.
Manage time efficiently and adapt to design changes and revisions to meet project deadlines.
Ensure drawings comply with industry standards, applicable codes, company guidelines, and client requirements.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation sets throughout the project lifecycle.
Participate in client and internal meetings to understand project needs and translate them into CAD documentation.
