• Create robust sensor calibration routines that perform reliably in complex and unpredictable environments

• Writing multithreaded code in autopilot firmware for time critical and safety critical applications

• Develop state-of-the-art, online and offline state estimation algorithms by fusing information from cameras, IMUs and other sensors

• Develop motion planning software and algorithms for Aerial Robots

• Collaborate with the open-source autopilot community for new areas of research and development related to both autopilot firmware and hardware

• Design and develop new algorithms, features, and improvements in autopilot software like Noise-reductions, flight modes, Navigation algorithms, etc.

• Write test plans and test cases, conduct unit integration and system-level testing

• Develop methods of testing and verifying correct functional behavior in simulation and hardware

• Develop quality code with version control & documentation

Qualifications and Skills:

• 3+ years of experience in Autopilot Software Development

• Experience writing production-level C/C++ clean & well-documented code

• Experience with C++11 (and later), real-time systems, and generic programming are highly desirable

• Ability to decode and modify existing complex autopilot software written in C/C++

• Having Hands-On experience with RTOS (FreeRTOS, ChibiOS, etc.)

• Experience developing modern planning approaches such as search, sampling, trajectory optimization, and model predictive control on real robots

• In-Depth knowledge of different kinds of controllers like PD, PID, etc.

• Familiar with state-estimation techniques like Unscented and Extended Kalman filters

• Strong background in core problems in robotics, including Bayesian state estimation (e.g., MAP, MMSE, MLE), 3D reconstruction, Structure-from-Motion, Visual Odometry, Visual Inertial Odometry, Bundle Adjustment, etc.

• Experience of working in a Linux environment is a must

• Good understanding of reading data sheets and manuals
