The Sales Manager is a dynamic and results-oriented leader responsible for overseeing and optimizing the sales operations of new and pre-owned MG vehicles. This role involves leading, motivating, and developing a high-performing sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets, while ensuring an exceptional customer experience aligned with MG Motors' brand standards. The Sales Manager will drive showroom traffic, manage inventory, analyze market trends, and implement effective sales strategies to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales Team Leadership & Management:
Recruit, hire, train, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Sales Consultants. Set clear sales targets (monthly, quarterly, annually) for the team and individual consultants, and monitor performance closely. Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and provide constructive feedback to foster continuous improvement. Motivate the sales team through incentives, recognition, and a positive, competitive work environment. Conduct daily/weekly sales meetings to discuss performance, strategies, and training needs.
2. Sales Strategy & Target Achievement:
Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet and exceed dealership and OEM (MG Motors) sales objectives. Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to adapt sales approaches. Oversee the sales process from lead generation and qualification to test drives, negotiation, and closing. Manage and optimize the sales pipeline and CRM system to ensure accurate tracking and follow-up. Proactively identify opportunities for new revenue streams (e.g., accessories, financing, insurance products).
3. Customer Experience & Satisfaction:
Ensure that all sales processes deliver an outstanding customer experience, from initial contact to vehicle delivery and post-sales follow-up. Address and resolve escalated customer concerns or complaints promptly and effectively, upholding the dealership's and MG Motors' reputation. Train the sales team on product knowledge, customer service best practices, and ethical selling. Drive customer loyalty and positive reviews/testimonials.
4. Inventory Management:
Work closely with the General Manager and inventory teams to manage new and pre-owned vehicle stock levels. Forecast demand and ensure a diverse and appealing inventory mix that aligns with market preferences and sales targets. Monitor vehicle aging and implement strategies to ensure efficient stock turnover.
5. Operational Excellence & Compliance:
Ensure strict adherence to all company policies, procedures, and legal/regulatory requirements related to vehicle sales. Maintain accurate sales records, contracts, and documentation. Collaborate effectively with other departments (e.g., Service, Finance & Insurance, Accessories, Parts) to ensure seamless operations and customer flow. Prepare and present comprehensive sales reports and forecasts to senior management.
