Job Description

1. Heavy Vehicle Diagnostics & Repair

KRA

: Assist in diagnosing faults in engines, transmissions, braking, electrical, hydraulic, and suspension systems.

KPI

: Number of diagnostic tasks supported per month; % of accurate fault identifications confirmed by senior; average time to complete routine diagnostics.
2. Preventive Maintenance

KRA

: Perform scheduled inspections and maintenance (oil changes, filter replacements, belts, fluid levels).

KPI

: % of preventive tasks completed on schedule; reduction in repeat breakdowns on assigned vehicles.
3. Parts & Inventory Management

KRA

: Help manage parts inventory--flag low stock, track usage, ensure timely availability.

KPI

: % accuracy of parts requisition; number of stock-outs prevented; cycle count discrepancies.
4. Safety & Workshop Compliance

KRA

: Adhere to workshop safety protocols, PPE usage, and waste disposal practices.

KPI

: Days without safety incidents; % of compliance audit checklist passed; PPE inspection scores.
5. Time & Task Management

KRA

: Manage assigned tasks efficiently under supervision, meet job deadlines, escalate delays.

KPI

: % of tasks finished on time; average time per minor repair; overtime hours reduced.
6. Quality Assurance

KRA

: Assist in post-repair inspections--leak tests, brake tests, test drives--ensuring work quality.

KPI

: Number of rework tasks; number of service callbacks/issues after repair.
7. Teamwork & Communication

KRA

: Work effectively with experienced mechanics, technicians, and workshop staff; communicate status updates.

KPI

: Peer feedback; number of briefings attended; unresolved task handovers.
8. Learning & Skill Development

KRA

: Participate in training sessions, tool demonstrations, and apprenticeship learning.

KPI

: Courses or modules completed; demonstrated skills in new areas (e.g., hydraulic diagnostics); mentor assessments.
9. Cost Awareness & Material Use

KRA

: Support cost-effective operations--avoidive part wastage, use appropriate materials per guidelines.

KPI

: Value of excess parts ordered; % adherence to service manuals; cost variance per job.
