Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and highly qualified faculty member to teach Mechanical, Automotive, and Motorsport Engineering modules as part of our Higher National and undergraduate pathways. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong subject matter expertise, effective teaching skills, industry exposure, and the ability to mentor students for academic and career success.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality lectures, tutorials, lab sessions, and workshops for Mechanical, Automotive, and Motorsport Engineering modules.
Develop lesson plans, teaching materials, practical activities, and assessments aligned with Pearson BTEC and partner-university curriculum standards.
Ensure all sessions follow the Scheme of Work (SoW) and incorporate activity-based learning.
Assess student performance through assignments, exams, projects, and practical evaluations.
Prepare assignment briefs, assessment tools, rubrics, and marking schemes in line with awarding body guidelines.
Contribute to curriculum review, mapping, and enhancement activities.
Maintain accurate documentation such as attendance, assessment records, internal verification evidence, and academic files.
Provide academic guidance, career mentoring, and project supervision to students.
Support students with engineering projects, motorsport design tasks, modelling, simulation, and industry skills.
Engage in research, publications, consultancy, or industry collaborations in mechanical, automotive, or motorsport domains.
Stay updated with emerging technologies such as EV systems, hybrid powertrains, aerodynamics, CAD/CAE tools, and modern manufacturing processes.
Participate in departmental meetings, academic audits, quality assurance processes, and staff development programs.
Support college events, competitions, industrial visits, and student development activities.
Requirements
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
Master's Degree (M.E./M.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Motorsport Engineering, or relevant discipline.
Minimum 1-3 years of teaching or industry experience.
Proficiency in core subjects such as:
Thermodynamics
Fluid Mechanics
Dynamics & Strength of Materials
Automotive Systems & Engines
Vehicle Dynamics
Motorsport Technology
Manufacturing Processes
Hands-on experience with engineering software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, ANSYS, MATLAB/Simulink, CFD/FEM tools, etc
Desirable:
Industry exposure in automotive, motorsport, or manufacturing sectors.
Experience teaching BTEC, UK pathway programs, or outcome-based education.
