We are seeking a skilled and experienced Automobile and Maintenance Engineer to oversee the maintenance and repair of our fleet of vehicles and HEMM used for beneficiation plant. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and optimal performance of our automobiles, including trucks, loaders, and other heavy machinery essential to our operations.
Key Responsibilities
:
1. Maintenance Planning and Execution
Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance plans for all automobiles equipment, including scheduling preventive maintenance activities and coordinating repairs to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
2 Technical Support and Troubleshooting
Provide technical expertise and support to maintenance teams in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in vehicles and HEMM, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.
3 Parts and Inventory Management
Manage inventory levels of spare parts and consumables, ensuring availability of critical components for timely repairs and replacements while optimizing inventory costs.
4 Performance Optimization
Conduct regular performance evaluations of vehicles and equipment, analysing data and implementing improvements to enhance reliability, efficiency, and longevity.
5 Compliance and Safety
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies, conducting regular inspections and audits to identify and address potential hazards and ensure a safe working environment.
6 Training and Development
Provide training and mentorship to maintenance staff on best practices, new technologies, and safety procedures to enhance skills and knowledge and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
7 Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization in the maintenance and operation of plant vehicles. - Implement best practices and efficiency measures to enhance the reliability and performance of automotive equipment.
Participate in training programs and stay updated on technological advancements in automotive maintenance.
8 Documentation and Reporting
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment histories, and inspection reports, to track performance, identify trends, and inform decision-making.
9 Collaboration.
Collaborate with other departments, such as plant operations, procurement, and engineering, to coordinate maintenance activities with production schedules, optimize resource allocation, and support plant-wide initiatives.
Qualifications
:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/ Automobile Engineering or a related field required.
Proven experience (7 years & above) in automotive maintenance and engineering, preferably in a heavy industrial or mining environment.
Strong technical knowledge of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems, coupled with experience in maintenance management and reliability engineering.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing maintenance issues.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively lead and collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to automotive maintenance and industrial operations.
Flexibility to work extended hours and respond to emergencies as needed.
