An automation trainer designs, develops, and delivers training programs on automation tools and technologies to help others gain the necessary skills for this field. Key responsibilities

Develop and deliver training:

Create and present training programs covering automation concepts, tools, and best practices.

Create training materials:

Develop course outlines, syllabi, training manuals, and hands-on lab exercises.

Provide hands-on instruction:

Guide learners through practical application and troubleshooting of automation systems.

Stay up-to-date:

Keep current with the latest trends, tools, and technologies in automation and incorporate them into the curriculum.

Assess performance:

Evaluate trainees' progress and the effectiveness of the training programs, making necessary adjustments to improve learning outcomes.

Support training environment:

Ensure the training lab or environment has the necessary tools, devices, and software.
Required skills and qualifications

Technical expertise:

Proficiency in specific automation systems such as PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley), SCADA, HMI, and industrial networks (e.g., Profibus, Modbus).

Programming and configuration:

Experience in programming PLCs and configuring SCADA/HMI systems.

Mentoring and communication:

Strong communication, presentation, and mentoring skills to simplify complex technical topics for a wide range of learners.

Educational background:

Typically a bachelor's or higher degree in an engineering field such as Electrical, Instrumentation, or Automation, is required.

Industry experience:

Significant hands-on experience in the automation industry is essential, often with several years of experience in training or mentoring roles.
