ob Title: Quality Engineering - Automation Tester



Role Description



Quality Assurance (QA) is responsible for ensuring testing strategies, plans and deliverables are executed for all applications and programmes of work within their domain. Work includes: oDesigning and conducting testing procedures and frameworks to verify software and other technical products to ensure expected functional performance oInvestigating instances where software and technical products do not perform as expected oDesigning and conducting quality assurance practices to support business development activities oDriving the adoption of recognised best practice and policy and contributes to the ongoing improvement of methodologies and assets for the business oWorking with their counterparts across the business to raise the standard of QA across the bank oRecording of defects and the collation of metrics and KPI information for reporting purposes oTesting disciplines include: Performance Testing, Test Automation, Test Processes, Testing Products Your key responsibilities o Strong knowledge/experience of building Java based test automation Frameworks



Write, design, and execute automated tests by creating scripts that run testing functions automatically. Maximise test coverage for the most critical features of the system. o Suggest /Make framework enhancements to accommodate the scripting needs. o Knowledge and experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, Acceptance Test Driven Development, Behavior Driven Development, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Automated Testing o Setting up Continuous Integration of Automated Tests and running the regression pack o Experience in writing Automated Tests to test different layers of the Product i.e. UI, API, Database, etc o Work with QA Lead and Automation Lead to drive a standard testing approach across products o Ability to work and support within cross-functional team/feature teams across multiple products o Adherence to the Bank's Performance monitoring standards



Your skills and experience o Experience in implementing and leading Test Automation strategies in large IT organisations, ideally working in an Agile framework operating a CI/CD DevOps approach o Has a thorough understanding of TDD and BDD techniques including Gherkin, Cucumber syntax o Good hold on Java as a language to develop the Test Automation solution keeping reusability & coding best practices in mind. Good to have knowledge of Python or any another programming language o Understanding of Automated test design patterns - Page Object Model; Factory Design Pattern, FacadePattern, Singleton Pattern o Significant experience with the following tools: - Selenium & Serenity Automation framework; Karate; ODBC - JDBC, TeamCity, JFrog Artifactory, Postman, RestAssured API, TestNG; Junit, Integrating test automation with Jenkins & Team City o Basic understanding of LoadRunner/Performance Centre; and JMeter; o Good working knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint online, O365, ServiceNow o Experience in working in a Cloud (Google, AWS, Azure etc) environment is highly desirable o Experience in defining Non-Functional Requirements and developing performance testing automation frameworks is highly desirable.
