Role Overview
This role focuses on
core manufacturing and automation
. The engineer will be responsible for analysing processes, developing automation solutions, and ensuring efficient, safe, and reliable operations across the production floor and propulsion testing facilities. The objective is to improve
productivity, testing repeatability, and operator deskilling
while driving end-to-end automation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Process Analysis & Design
Evaluate existing production workflows and propulsion testing methods to identify bottlenecks.
Recommend process improvements and automation opportunities aligned with cost, quality, and throughput goals.
Apply lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices to reduce waste and inefficiencies.
2. Automation Solution Development
Design and deploy automation for
sequential assembly lines
, ensuring repeatability in drone production.
Develop
pre-assembly and in-process testing systems
for quality assurance at every stage.
Introduce
composite assembly automation
to improve accuracy in lightweight drone components.
Lead
Configure PLCs, robotics, vision systems, and propulsion test rigs for automation tasks.
Develop scripts/programs in Python, MATLAB, SQL, or LabVIEW for data analysis and control.
Integrate all automation systems with MES/ERP platforms for seamless data capture and reporting.
4. Validation & Testing
Conduct validation and calibration of automation systems to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Perform
Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA)
and implement preventive measures.
Ensure compliance with ISO, IPC, and aerospace safety standards during all deployments.
5. Collaboration & Documentation
Collaborate with design, quality, propulsion, and production teams for smooth automation rollout.
Create SOPs, operator manuals, and training content for new systems.
Train production and testing staff to effectively use the automation solutions.
Qualifications
B.E./B.Tech in Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
1-3 years of experience in industrial automation or propulsion system testing automation.
Strong knowledge of PLCs, robotics, MES, propulsion test rigs, and Industry 4.0 technologies.
Familiarity with propulsion endurance testing, thrust measurement, and automated data acquisition preferred.
