Key Responsibilities

Enhance and expand the existing Playwright-based test automation framework

, ensuring it is robust, scalable, and ready to support upcoming project needs. Design, develop, and maintain

automated test suites

for multiple AI agents as they are introduced into the pipeline. Implement and maintain

contract testing (e.g., Pact, OpenAPI/Swagger validation)

as a core part of the automation strategy--this is a mandatoryskill for the role. Build and maintain backend/API automation supporting complex agent workflows and orchestrator logic. Collaborate with engineering, product, and QA teams to define test strategies, coverage goals, and quality standards. Define and enforce automation best practices, including CI/CD integration, version control management, and test data frameworks. Troubleshoot automation failures, perform root cause analysis, and ensure long-term stability of the automation suite. Ensure all automation, documentation, and testing activities comply with

GxP standards

and validation expectations. Participate in early planning, architecture discussions, and design reviews to ensure quality is considered at all stages of development. Prepare and maintain documentation for automation processes, GxP compliance, and framework usage. Contribute to early planning and design discussions, bringing a quality and automation-first perspective

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years

of experience in test automation engineering. Strong experience with

backend/API test automation

(REST, GraphQL, microservices). Strong expertise in

Playwright

(TypeScript/JavaScript or Python) with proven experience building or extending frameworks. Hands-on experience automating tests for

AI-driven systems or AI agents

(LLM-based agents preferred). Solid understanding of backend testing, including

API automation, microservices testing, and orchestrator workflows

. Experience with

CI/CD pipelines

(e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI). Familiarity with

GxP compliance

and working in regulated environments. Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-Have

Experience testing or validating machine learning or LLM-based systems. Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Background in pharmaceutical, biotech, or similarly regulated industries. Experience with containerization (Docker) and Kubernetes.
