AutoCAD Lighting Draughtsman

Role Overview

The AutoCAD Lighting Draughtsman at Luxaddi is a

specialized product draughting role

, responsible for creating

production, fabrication, and installation drawings for decorative lighting fixtures

such as chandeliers, pendants, wall lights, and custom lighting installations.

This role is

not a civil drafting position

. It requires a

product-focused mechanical and electrical drafting mindset

, with strong understanding of lighting construction, metal fabrication, electrical integration, and installation logic.

Key Responsibilities1. Lighting Product Drafting

Prepare

accurate 2D AutoCAD drawings

for decorative lighting products including: Chandeliers, pendants, wall lights, floor lamps Custom installations and site-specific fixtures Develop: General Arrangement (GA) drawings Exploded views and sectional details Fabrication and assembly drawings Mounting, canopy, and suspension details
2. Mechanical & Electrical Integration

Draft lighting products with clear representation of: Metal structures, arms, frames, joints, and brackets Material thicknesses, tolerances, and fastening methods Electrical wiring paths, lamp holders (E14/E27), LED modules, drivers, and earthing Ensure drawings are

manufacturing-feasible

and safe for installation.
3. Design Translation & Coordination

Convert

design concepts, sketches, reference images, and designer inputs

into precise technical drawings. Coordinate with: Designers for aesthetic intent Production teams for fabrication feasibility Installation teams for site execution clarity Incorporate client feedback, site conditions, and revision requirements efficiently.
4. Production & Site Support

Prepare drawings that reduce production ambiguity and installation errors. Provide

revision drawings, as-built drawings, and installation clarifications

as required. Support electricians and installers with clear wiring and fixing details.
5. Documentation & Drawing Control

Maintain proper

version control, drawing registers, and file naming standards

. Ensure compliance with internal drafting standards and safety norms. Assist in BOQ and technical documentation support where required.

Required Skills & CompetenciesMandatory Technical Skills

Strong proficiency in

AutoCAD (2D)

Sound understanding of: Decorative lighting construction Metal fabrication (brass, steel, aluminium) Electrical components used in lighting fixtures Assembly logic and hanging/load considerations
Preferred Skills

Knowledge of SketchUp / Rhino / SolidWorks (advantage) Familiarity with luxury or custom-made products Ability to visualize 3D forms from 2D drawings
Soft Skills

High attention to detail Strong coordination and communication skills Ability to work under deadlines Problem-solving approach for design-to-production challenges
Qualification & Experience

Qualification:

Diploma / ITI / Bachelor's in

Mechanical, Electrical, Product Design, or Interior Drafting

Experience:

2-6 years in

decorative lighting, furniture, metal fabrication, or custom product drafting

Note:This role is not suitable for pure civil draughtsmen (RCC, building layouts, masonry drawings). Candidates must have product-level drafting exposure.Ideal Candidate Profile
