Overview
We are seeking an AutoCAD Electrical Administrator to join our BIM/ Engineering Technology team, supporting the design and delivery of complex instrumentation & electrical systems across various industrial projects. In this role, you will manage and optimize AutoCAD Electrical environments, ensuring efficient workflows, standardization, and compliance with project and industry requirements. You'll be responsible for creating and maintaining symbol libraries, templates, and databases, configuring project settings, and troubleshooting software issues to enable seamless collaboration. Additionally, you will drive automation initiatives, integrate instrumentation and electrical design data with other platforms, and support digital delivery strategies for smarter, connected solutions. Ideal candidates have 3-10 years of experience in electrical CAD administration, strong knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical functionalities, and a passion for improving design efficiency through technology and innovation.
Your role
Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain AutoCAD Electrical software and related plugins.
• Manage licensing and ensure compliance with Autodesk policies.
• Develop and maintain company-specific templates, title blocks, and drawing standards.
• Create and manage symbol libraries, signal/ wire numbering schemes, and component databases.
• Maintain and update the AutoCAD Electrical project database and Catalog data.
• Familiar with different drawing standards for SLD's, wiring diagrams, terminal strip diagrams, control loop diagrams, instrument logic diagrams, etc.
• Importing and exporting of the data from and to AutoCAD Electrical
• Reports creation/ customization and extraction from AutoCAD Electrical as per client requirements.
• Ensure proper backup and recovery procedures for project files and databases.
• Provide technical support to design teams for AutoCAD Electrical issues.
• Conduct training sessions and create documentation for best practices.
• Automate repetitive tasks using scripts or Auto LISP routines.
• Integrate AutoCAD Electrical with other engineering tools
• Ensure compliance with electrical design standards and company guidelines.
• Perform audits on drawings and projects for accuracy and consistency.

About you
Required skills and experience

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, suitable for technical and collaborative environments.
• Degree or Diploma in Engineering (preferably Electrical/ Electronics/ Instrumentation) with 3 to 10 years of experience in plant engineering projects across Nuclear, M&M, Industrial and multidisciplinary sectors.
• Certification in AutoCAD Electrical and AutoCAD products would be added advantage.
• Proven experience in preparing technical documentation such as feasibility studies, specifications, method statements, design reports, construction drawings, and BOQs.
• Skilled in project planning, cost estimation, and tracking progress of engineering deliverables within budget and schedule, including familiarity with change control processes.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office tools, with strong IT literacy and a good understanding of infrastructure and hardware relevant to engineering environments.

Desirable skills and Experience

• Advanced proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD Electrical and similar plant design platforms, with the ability to manage and coordinate across engineering disciplines.
• Skilled in setting up Project in AutoCAD Electrical (on standalone as well as on ACC) and executing workflows within AutoCAD Electrical, including rule-based checks.
• Knowledge of Electrical/ Instrumentation Design principles and standards.
• Experience using Smart Review for issue tracking, redlining, and generating various reports from AutoCAD Electrical.
• Familiarity with managing small, medium and large-scale AutoCAD Electrical projects and coordinating across multiple design teams.
• Practical experience with BIM workflows and tools commonly used in plant engineering environments.
