Develop detailed AV system drawings including signal flow diagrams, rack layouts, device elevations, and installation details using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
Create and Maintain As-Built Drawings
Update drawings during and after installation to reflect any field changes, ensuring all "as-built" documents are accurate and complete.
Interpret AV Design Specifications
Read and understand AV system designs, engineering specifications, scope of work (SOW), and architectural plans to create clear technical documentation.
Collaborate with AV Engineers and Project Managers
Work closely with system designers, engineers, and project managers to gather inputs and ensure drawings meet functional and technical requirements.
Coordinate with Other Trades
Integrate AV plans with electrical, mechanical, architectural, and structural drawings to ensure compatibility and avoid conflicts.
Prepare Cable Schedules and Layouts
Develop detailed cable routing layouts and schedules for audio, video, control, and network cabling.
Ensure Drawing Standards and Documentation Compliance
Maintain adherence to industry standards (such as AVIXA, ANSI, etc.) and internal company CAD/drawing protocols.
Generate Equipment Rack and Panel Layouts
Design and draft rack elevations, rear rack views, and cable management solutions for equipment installations.
Support Bill of Materials (BOM) Development
Assist in identifying components and equipment from drawings to support BOM creation and procurement processes.
Provide Drawing Support During Installation
Respond to field team queries, provide clarification from drawings, and adjust designs based on site conditions when necessary.
Maintain Drawing Repositories
Organize and manage digital drawing files, versions, and revisions using document control systems or project management platforms.
