Job Summary

We are looking for a CAD Designer specializing in upholstered furniture structures to join our Design & R&D team. The ideal candidate will create accurate frame and structural drawings, optimize designs for mass production, and ensure strength, comfort, and manufacturability. You will work closely with the production and prototyping teams to translate concepts into ergonomic, durable, and high-quality upholstered furniture.

Key Responsibilities

Develop detailed 2D CAD drawings for sofa and upholstered furniture frames (wooden / metal). Prepare cutting lists, joinery details, and structural layouts for shop-floor execution. Collaborate with upholstery and production teams to ensure frame compatibility with foam, fabric, and final assembly. Optimize frame designs for strength, durability, cost-efficiency, and ease of assembly. Create BOMs (Bill of Materials) and technical specifications. Coordinate with prototyping to resolve structural and ergonomic issues. Research new materials, joinery techniques, and frame construction methods to improve product quality. Maintain a library of standardized frame designs for production efficiency. Ensure compliance with safety, comfort, and company quality standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Diploma / Degree in Furniture Design, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. 1-3 years of experience in CAD-based design for upholstered furniture (sofas, chairs, recliners, etc.). Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory). Strong understanding of wooden and metal frame construction for upholstered furniture. Knowledge of ergonomics, load-bearing design, and upholstery requirements. Familiarity with materials (hardwood, plywood, MDF, metal tubing, fasteners, foam, webbing, etc.). Ability to create production-ready shop drawings with high accuracy. Good communication and teamwork skills.

Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹400,000.00 per year
