Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CAD Designer to create detailed technical drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD software for our range of STEM education kits. This role involves translating conceptual ideas into precise, production-ready plans that are safe, functional, and easy for students to assemble. You will collaborate closely with our product development and engineering teams to ensure designs meet our educational goals and manufacturing specifications. Key Responsibilities

Develop detailed designs and drawings

using AutoCAD (2D and 3D) for new STEM kit components and assemblies based on project specifications and sketches.

Collaborate with the product development team

to understand design requirements and iterate on prototypes.

Generate Bill of Materials (BOMs)

and technical specifications for production and assembly instructions.

Review and modify existing designs

based on feedback, ensuring all designs meet industry standards and safety regulations for educational products.

Maintain and organize

design files, ensuring proper version control and documentation.

Assist the manufacturing team

in troubleshooting design-related issues during fabrication and assembly.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Proficiency in

AutoCAD software

(2D and 3D modeling capabilities are a plus). Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, precise drawings. Understanding of basic engineering principles and manufacturing processes (e.g., laser cutting, 3D printing, injection molding). Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proactive approach to challenges. Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. A diploma or degree in Drafting, Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications (Optional)

Experience with other CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor). Familiarity with materials science related to consumer products or educational toys. Experience in a product development or manufacturing environment.
