An AutoCAD Designer in this field is responsible for preparing precise 2D and 3D design drawings, layouts, and detailed structural plans for solar installations and associated civil works, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.

1. Solar Structural Designing

Prepare detailed mounting structure layouts for solar panels (Rooftop, Ground-Mounted, Carport, etc.).

Create 3D models of the solar panel structure using AutoCAD or related tools (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit).

Design foundation drawings, base plate details, and structural member dimensions.

Coordinate with structural engineers for load analysis, wind and seismic considerations.

Integrate PV module dimensions, spacing, tilt angles, and array configurations.

Prepare BOM (Bill of Materials) and quantity take-offs for structural components.

2. Civil & Structural Design

Draft civil infrastructure plans (foundations, plinths, cable trenches, boundary walls, roads).

Create reinforcement detailing (RCC) for footings, beams, columns, slabs, etc.

Draft structural steel drawings (e.g., support frames, walkways, platforms).

Develop site grading and drainage plans.

Prepare as-built drawings and update designs based on field modifications.

3. Coordination & Documentation

Collaborate with design engineers, civil engineers, and project managers for drawing approvals.

Maintain version control of drawings and document revision history.

Ensure all drawings follow applicable codes and standards (IS codes, IEC, NBC, etc.). Support procurement and construction teams with shop drawings and installation details.

4. Software and Tools

Proficient in AutoCAD (2D & 3D).

Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, or STAAD Pro is a plus.

Familiarity with PVsyst, SketchUp, or Helioscope for solar layout is beneficial.
