Key Responsibilities





:



The Audit Head will be responsible for overseeing the internal audit function for the manufacturing operations. This role ensures robust internal controls, risk mitigation, and compliance across production facilities, supply chain, inventory management, and operational processes. He will provide strategic insights to enhance operational efficiency, safeguard assets, and align practices with industry standards and regulatory requirements specific to the manufacturing sector.

1. Audit Strategy & Planning:




Design and execute a risk-based audit plan focused on manufacturing processes, including production, procurement, inventory, plant maintenance, and logistics etc. Prioritize audits of high-risk areas such as raw material procurement, cost optimization, quality control, and plant safety compliance.

2. Audit Execution:




Lead audits of manufacturing units, evaluating controls over production workflows, inventory accuracy, waste management, and fixed assets. Assess compliance with environmental regulations (e.g., pollution control), labour laws (Factories Act), and safety standards (OSHA equivalents). Review cost accounting practices, variance analysis, and budget adherence to identify inefficiencies or fraud risks.

3. Risk Management:




Identify risks unique to manufacturing (e.g., supply chain disruptions, machinery downtime, quality defects) and recommend mitigation strategies. Evaluate the effectiveness of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for production planning, inventory tracking, and cost management.

4. Compliance & Regulatory Oversight:




Ensure adherence to statutory requirements (GST, Customs, Excise), ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001, 14001), and industry-specific regulations. Monitor compliance with sustainability initiatives and ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) frameworks.

5. Reporting & Stakeholder Communication:




Present audit findings to senior management and the Board, emphasizing actionable recommendations for cost reduction, process improvement, and risk control. Collaborate with plant managers and operations heads to drive corrective actions and process enhancements.

6. Team Leadership:




Mentor audit teams with technical expertise in manufacturing processes, cost accounting, and lean/Six Sigma methodologies. Promote data analytics capabilities for auditing large-scale production data.




Qualification





:



Chartered Accountant (CA)





Experience





:



Minimum of 15 years of experience in internal audit, risk management, or related fields, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) certification is preferred Requires frequent travel to multiple Indian / Overseas locations Proficiency in audit software, data analytics tools, and SAP.
