POSITION OPENING - ASST. PROJECT MANAGER (LNG / CGD Projects)
For a project engineering organization specializing in manufacture/marketing of cryogenic equipment as well as establishing turnkey projects. Customer profile includes conventional industries such as industrial gas manufacturers, steel, automotive, pharmaceuticals, petroleum and other similar industries. Also, in a leading position for executing customized cryogenic projects for sectors such as Liquified Natural Gas (LNG), Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), etc.
The Assistant Project Manager will support planning, execution, and monitoring of oil & gas projects, primarily related to LNG and City Gas Distribution (CGD) infrastructure. The role requires strong technical understanding, structured project management skills, and effective coordination with internal teams and customers to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and as per approved project plans.
Key Responsibilities:
? Project Planning & Monitoring
Prepare detailed project plans, schedules, and milestones in line with contractual and technical requirements.
Track project progress against baseline schedules and proactively highlight delays, risks, or deviations.
Support preparation of project execution plans, progress reports, and dashboards.
? Technical & Execution Support
Provide technical coordination for LNG and LCNG systems.
Review engineering deliverables, vendor documents, and execution plans to ensure alignment with project requirements.
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure smooth execution.
? Stakeholder & Customer Coordination
Act as a key interface between internal stakeholders (engineering, procurement, QA/QC, finance, site teams) and external stakeholders (clients, consultants, vendors).
Ensure timely approvals, document movement, and decision-making to avoid project delays.
Participate in customer meetings, progress reviews, and technical discussions.
? Communication & Reporting
Ensure clear, timely, and structured communication across all stakeholders.
Prepare and circulate weekly/monthly project status reports, MOMs, and action trackers.
Escalate critical issues and risks to senior project management in a timely manner.
Risk, Quality & Compliance
Assist in identifying project risks and mitigation plans.
Ensure project activities comply with applicable codes, standards, safety, and quality requirements.
Support coordination for inspections, testing, and handover activities.
? Key Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of oil & gas projects, especially LNG and CGD systems.
Familiarity with project lifecycle: engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning.
Strong planning, scheduling, and monitoring skills.
Proficiency in MS Project / Primavera / Excel or similar tools.
Communication Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong coordination and follow-up capability.
? Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Chemical / Instrumentation / Civil).
3-6 years of experience in oil & gas, LNG, or CGD project execution or management roles.
