Position:Asst. Manager/Manager - Indirect Taxation
Location:Piplod - Surat

Responsibilities:

• Compliance:
• Ensure timely and accurate filing of GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9/9C, etc.).
• Manage input tax credit (ITC) reconciliation with GSTR-2B and books of accounts.
• Monitor e-invoicing and e-way bill compliance and integration with ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
• Ensure proper classification of goods under HSN/SAC codes.
• Advisory & Planning:
• Provide tax advisory support on transactions, contracts, and business operations.
• Analyze the impact of changes in tax laws and recommend tax-efficient structures.
• Assist in structuring domestic transactions to ensure tax optimization and compliance.
• Audit & Assessments:
• Handle GST audits, departmental inquiries, and assessments independently.
• Liaise with external consultants, legal advisors, and tax authorities.
• Prepare replies to notices and manage litigation related to indirect taxation.
• Internal Controls & Documentation:
• Ensure robust documentation and record-keeping for input/output tax credits, refunds, and exemptions.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to prevent tax leakages or non-compliance.
• Cross-functional Coordination:
• Collaborate with procurement, supply chain, production, and commercial teams to evaluate tax implications on procurement and sales.
• Support in SAP/ERP implementation and improvements from an indirect tax perspective.

Required Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of GST, Customs, and other indirect taxes.
• Working experience with SAP / Oracle / other ERP systems.
• Strong analytical and interpretation skills of legal provisions.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work under pressure.
• Good communication and drafting skills.
