Job Summary:
The Assistant Manager - R&D will be responsible for conducting ingredient-based research and developing innovative products through new technologies and process modifications. The role spans both pharmaceutical and cosmetic formulations, requiring close collaboration with cross-functional teams while ensuring projects are completed within timelines and budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Development:
Lead new product development (NPD) from concept to launch, including idea generation, prototyping, testing, and commercialization.
Process Improvement:
Identify and implement opportunities for process optimization, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Project Management:
Plan and execute NPD projects while ensuring adherence to quality, regulatory standards, budget, and deadlines.
Collaboration:
Partner with marketing, production, quality assurance, and other teams to ensure successful product outcomes.
Compliance:
Ensure all R&D activities comply with industry regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
Market Research:
Track industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies to shape R&D strategies.
Reporting:
Prepare and present reports on R&D progress, project status, and performance metrics to senior management.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Pharmacy, Cosmetics, or a related scientific discipline.
Experience:
Minimum 4-5 years of R&D experience in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, or related industries.
Technical Skills:
Strong domain expertise in formulation science, product development, and related technologies.
Analytical Skills:
Proven problem-solving and analytical ability with data-driven decision-making.
Innovation:
A creative mindset with a focus on innovation, technology adoption, and continuous improvement.
Working Conditions:
Primarily office and laboratory-based, with occasional travel to conferences, client locations, or manufacturing facilities.
May require extended hours to meet project deadlines or address critical issues.
