. Key Responsibilities. Quality Assurance & Control
Implement and monitor
incoming, in-process, and final inspection
procedures for genset components (engine, alternator, control panel, chassis, fuel system, etc.).
Ensure compliance with
ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS/ISO 45001
, and customer specifications.
Develop and maintain
Quality Control Plans (QCPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
, and inspection checklists.
Conduct
process audits and product audits
; identify non-conformities and ensure corrective actions.
B. Supplier Quality Management
Monitor vendor performance and conduct
supplier audits
.
Approve or reject incoming materials based on specifications, test reports, and sampling plans.
Coordinate with purchase/vendor development for quality improvements in bought-out items (engines, alternators, electrical components, sheet metal parts, fasteners, etc.).
C. Root Cause Analysis & Continuous Improvement
Drive
CAPA
(Corrective & Preventive Actions) using tools like 5 Why, Ishikawa, FMEA, 8D.
Support lean initiatives (Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, 5S, TPM) to reduce defects, rework, and cost of poor quality (COPQ).
Monitor key quality metrics:

Ensure calibration and maintenance of testing equipment and gauges.
E. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain all quality records--inspection reports, test reports, NC reports, calibration records.
Prepare daily/weekly/monthly
Quality MIS reports
and present improvement status.
Ensure proper traceability of genset components and finished goods.
F. Customer Focus
Handle customer complaint analysis and field failure reports.
Coordinate with service, production, and engineering teams to ensure quick resolution.
Support customer audits and visits.
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of
diesel engines, alternators, electrical systems
, and genset assembly processes.
Hands-on experience with quality tools: 7QC Tools, 8D, PPAP, APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC.
Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and using measuring instruments.
Excellent analytical, documentation, and reporting skills.
Ability to lead a team and coordinate across departments. Education
& Experience
Qualification:
B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical, Electrical, Automobile, Industrial Engineering (or similar).
Experience:
5-10 years in Quality function within
Genset, Engine, Heavy Machinery, or Electrical Equipment Manufacturing
.
Certifications:
ISO Internal Auditor, Six Sigma (preferred).
