Lead and manage civil engineering projects from inception to completion, including greenfield (new facility construction) and brownfield (facility renovation and upgrades) projects.
Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with company objectives and pharmaceutical industry standards.
Prepare and manage project documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Team Leadership and Coordination:
Supervise and manage multidisciplinary teams, including civil engineers, contractors, architects, and other key stakeholders.
Ensure seamless communication between internal departments (e.g., quality, production, safety) and external contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
Site Supervision and Quality Control:
Oversee construction activities to ensure work is being carried out according to plans, specifications, and quality standards.
Conduct site inspections, resolve issues, and ensure all work complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Implement corrective actions and ensure project milestones are met according to the set schedule.
Work closely with procurement and finance teams to ensure cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to achieve cost-effective pricing and resource allocation.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all projects comply with relevant local, state, and federal regulations, particularly those specific to the pharmaceutical industry (GxP, FDA, OSHA, etc.).
Stay updated with the latest industry standards and technological advances in civil engineering and pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.
Risk Management:
Identify and assess potential risks associated with the project, develop mitigation strategies, and implement effective solutions.
Resolve conflicts and manage any issues that arise during the project lifecycle, ensuring minimal disruption to timelines and quality
Required Skills
experience in civil project management, with a strong focus on greenfield and brownfield projects in the pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or related industries.
In-depth knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and project management tools.
Experience managing projects involving pharmaceutical GMP compliance, cleanroom construction, utilities, and other critical infrastructure.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and CAD tools.
Ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
