Job Description

The Assistant Manager - Operations will support the General Manager - Operations in overseeing daily manufacturing operations, bridging operations management and production supervision, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards, quality control, safety protocols, and timely delivery of customer orders. The candidate must be available for

Key Responsibilities:



PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT



Oversee daily manufacturing operations across all production lines including sheet metal works, welding, and assembly Implement and monitor production schedules to meet project deadlines and delivery commitments Coordinate with production supervisors to ensure resource allocation and equipment utilization Monitor Work-in-Progress (WIP) and inventory levels, ensuring materials are available for uninterrupted production Track production metrics (on-time delivery, defect rates, capacity utilization) and prepare daily/weekly production reports

QUALITY ASSURANCE & COMPLIANCE



Support implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems Conduct regular quality audits and ensure compliance with internal quality standards Work with Quality team to reduce defects and implement corrective/preventive actions Ensure all products meet customer specifications and industry safety standards Maintain documentation and traceability for all manufactured products

SAFETY & HOUSEKEEPING



Promote and enforce a culture of safety across the manufacturing facility Conduct safety inductions and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Investigate safety incidents and implement preventive measures Maintain clean, organized, and safe working conditions on the shop floor Ensure compliance with fire safety, electrical safety, and other regulatory requirements

PROCUREMENT & INVENTORY MANAGEMENT



Support the Procurement team with material requirements and inventory planning Communicate raw material needs (sheet metal, components, fasteners) based on production schedules Monitor inventory levels to avoid stockouts while minimizing excess stock Participate in vendor quality audits and performance evaluations

TEAM LEADERSHIP & DEVELOPMENT



Supervise production team members and provide technical guidance Identify training needs and support skill development of operations staff Maintain attendance records, prepare performance reviews, and recommend disciplinary actions Foster a collaborative and productive work environment Conduct toolbox meetings and safety briefings

COST MANAGEMENT & OPTIMIZATION



Support cost optimization initiatives and waste reduction programs Monitor production costs against budgeted figures Identify operational inefficiencies and propose improvement solutions Track machine downtime and support equipment maintenance planning

COMMUNICATION & COORDINATION



Communicate production status to General Manager Operations and other departments Coordinate with Sales/Commercial team on order status and delivery schedules Liaise with Engineering on technical specifications and design changes Support customer interactions for technical clarifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS



Education o Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or equivalent / MBA Operations

Experience



Minimum 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing operations or production management Proven experience in sheet metal fabrication, HVAC manufacturing, or similar heavy manufacturing environments Experience with ISO 9001:2015 or similar quality management systems Demonstrated experience in leading and supervising production teams

TECHNICAL SKILLS



Understanding of sheet metal operations, welding, and assembly processes Proficiency with production planning tools and MIS/ERP systems Knowledge of CAD drawings and technical specifications Basic knowledge of costing and financial management Experience with MS Excel for data analysis and reporting

SOFT SKILLS



Strong leadership and team management abilities Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills Time management and multitasking capabilities Attention to detail and quality-focused mindset Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines Initiative and commitment to continuous improvement
