Job Title: Assistant Manager New Projects (Production Department)
Department: Production
Reports to: Production ManagerJob Overview:The New Projects Supervisor in the Production Department is responsible for overseeing and managing the initiation, execution, and completion of new projects within the production facility. This role ensures that new projects are delivered on time, and meet all quality and safety standards. The supervisor will work closely with the production team, engineering, quality assurance, Manufacturing Engineering ( Operations Development ) ,IT and other cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of new projects into the existing production processes.Key Responsibilities: * Project Planning & Execution:

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to define project scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of new project implementation, ensuring adherence to project schedules.
  • Ensure proper documentation of project plans, milestones, and timelines.
  • Monitor and track the progress of new projects, addressing any delays or issues proactively.
  • Driver for efficiency improvement projects
  • Regularly update management on project progress, challenges, and any changes to timelines.
  • Ensure clear and open communication with all project stakeholders.
  • Resource Management:
  • Oversee the allocation of Workforce, materials, tools, and equipment for new projects.
  • Ensure all resources are used efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Operational Maintenance Management:
  • Maintain all the tools & tackles used by the production department
  • Maintain proper Preventive, Predictive Maintenance.
  • Inspect sites regularly to identify problems and necessary maintenance.
  • Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work as per forecasted workloads.
  • Coordinate daily cleaning and maintenance activities.
  • Oversee all repairs and ensure that work is completed on time.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance work.
  • Conduct follow-ups on all maintenance and repair work.
  • Projects Quality Control:
  • Work with the quality assurance team to establish quality standards for new projects.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure they meet quality requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Address any quality issues during the implementation phase and initiate corrective actions.
  • Risk Management & Problem Solving:
  • Identify potential risks and obstacles to the successful completion of new projects.
  • Troubleshoot production-related issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Evaluate the efficiency of new projects post-implementation and suggest improvements for future projects.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and cost-reduction strategies where possible.
  • Training & Development:
  • Provide guidance and support to production staff in relation to new project processes and equipment.
  • Organize training sessions to ensure employees are skilled in using new tools, machines, or technologies introduced during project rollouts.
  • Compliance & Safety:
  • Ensure all new projects comply with local regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
  • Conduct safety audits and risk assessments to prevent accidents during new project implementation.
  • Promote a culture of safety within the production team and lead safety initiatives for new projects.
  • Technology and Innovation:
  • Lead the adoption and integration of new technologies, such as automation systems, advanced machinery, and digital tools, to modernize production workflow.
  • People Management:
  • Promote a culture of safety within the production team and lead safety initiatives for new projects.

Key Requirements:
  • Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical /electrical/Electronic engineering, Production Management, or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 12-15 years of experience in a supervisory role within a production environment, preferably in manufacturing industries.
  • Hands-on experience in managing new projects in a production setting, including resource management and scheduling.
  • Experience with project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, CAD etc.) is a plus.
  • Hand on in planning Manufacturing readiness for New product
  • Knowledge of automation and modern production technologies. Understanding on Industry 4.0
  • Experience working in Automotive, Underground mining equipment industry is preferred.
  • Skills:
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of production processes, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and make decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex production systems and workflows.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, automation, and production systems.
Working Conditions:
  • Full-time position with working hours typically in Shifts or General shift depending on the business requirement.
  • The role involves a combination of office-based work and on-site supervision in the production area.
  • Occasional travel to vendor sites, other production facilities, or project locations may be required.
