Job Role :
To manage and execute instrumentation and control activities for a greenfield plant project, ensuring timely completion, quality installation, compliance with safety standards, and smooth commissioning and handover to O&M.
Key Responsibilities Project Engineering & Execution

• Review and finalize instrument engineering documents:

• P&IDs, instrument index, datasheets, hook-up drawings, loop diagrams
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, electrical, and civil teams for interface management.
• Support vendor drawing review, technical bid evaluation, and finalization of instruments and packages.

Installation & Construction Supervision

• Supervise field installation of:

• Transmitters, analyzers, control valves, MOVs
• Junction boxes, impulse tubing, instrument air lines
• Ensure installation as per approved drawings, standards, and specifications.
• Monitor contractor activities for quality, safety, and schedule adherence.

Control & Automation Systems

• Hands-on involvement in:

• DCS / PLC / SCADA system engineering
• I/O list finalization, logic review, and alarm philosophy
• Coordinate FAT, SAT, system integration, and third-party package interfacing.

Pre-Commissioning & Commissioning

• Plan and execute:

• Loop checking, calibration, cold & hot commissioning
• Support plant start-up, performance guarantee tests, and stabilization.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation and control issues during commissioning.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with:

• Project safety norms, statutory requirements, and OEM guidelines
• Participate in HAZOP, SIL studies, interlock checks, and safety audits.
• Ensure proper implementation of alarms, trips, and interlocks.

Documentation & Handover

• Prepare and compile:

• As-built drawings, calibration records, loop folders
• Support final handover to O&M team with complete documentation and training.

Team & Contractor Management

• Lead site instrumentation team and contractors.
• Coordinate manpower planning and daily work execution.
• Liaise with vendors, consultants, and PMC.

Key Skills & Competencies Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of greenfield project execution
• Experience with:

• DCS (Yokogawa / Emerson / Honeywell / Siemens or similar)
• PLC systems and field instrumentation
• Familiar with gas-based plants, utilities, or large process projects
• Knowledge of international standards (IEC, ISA, API)
