Job Description

We are looking for an experienced

Assistant Manager - Equipment

to join our Mumbai team. The ideal candidate will have strong exposure to

liner shipping operations

, equipment control, and coordination with multiple stakeholders. This role requires excellent communication skills, proactive planning, and the ability to manage container utilization effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Vessel Space Utilization

- Optimize space utilization for export laden and empty containers in coordination with vessel planners, commercial team, and location offices.

Reposition of Empty Units

- Manage communication and coordination with location offices and empty yards.

CFS/Depots Management

- Handle day-to-day coordination and issue resolution with CFS & depots.

Offhire & One-way Containers

- Achieve monthly targets at HND location through close coordination with depots and branch offices.

Reporting

- Prepare and maintain required reports using MS Excel.

Weekly Meetings

- Conduct weekly equipment meetings with all branch offices.

Customer & Commercial Team Coordination

- Act as a link between customers, depots, and the commercial team.

Invoice Creation

- Handle third-party invoice creation accurately.

Empty Long Idling Units

- Monitor, track, and follow up on idling units at HND locations.

Requirements

Graduate (preferred) with

mandatory liner shipping company experience

.

8-10+ years

of relevant industry experience. Strong knowledge of equipment control and container operations. Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel). Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet targets.
