Responsible For
Acting as the pivot or intermediary between end-users and IT to ensure that business/user requirements are delivered in IT solutions.
Main Activities
Analysing and delivering business process initiatives, either managing some components of mid-sized initiatives or all components of small initiatives.
Meeting with user groups to gather and analyse end user requirements.
Analysing workflow to create process maps and isolate areas of potential improvement.
Developing functional specifications that design and document desired outcome of system enhancement/development.
Producing technical specifications to communicate user requirements in technical terms to analyst programmers/project team.
Coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure the overall efficiency, functionality and user friendliness of system enhancement/development.
Preparing material and providing training and assistance to end-users following implementation.
Working as a crucial component of a project team responsible for enhancing existing systems or developing new systems.
Key Skills
In-depth understanding of Financial Products, processes and systems
Creativity and simplifying complex processes and issues, problem solving and analysis
Extensive experience working in an agile environment and familiarity with HCD techniques.
Ability to communicate a product vision to key stakeholders and teams, developing it into a shaped backlog of key features, user stories and goals for individual sprints
Comfortable playing a leadership role, including leading workshops, in a cross functional business and IT team through the discovery, development and operational usage stages of change.
Ability to innovate, adapt and grasp new skills and content
Ability to work closely with key stakeholders and build collaborative partnerships
Proven analytical skills and evidence based decision making
Previous experience as a Business Analyst
Key Accountabilities
Responsible for capturing and grooming requirements into epics, features, user stories and dependencies in collaboration with the squads that aligns with business requirements.
Perform analysis (scenario, policy, customer, data, gap, change, etc) in order to articulate business need and solution requirements.
Produce As Is and To Be Process Models
Develop process models, data models, business rules, target operating models, workflows, reporting and other required outputs
Ensure the Delivery and Development teams understand the value of each user story that is being delivered at the right time
Works with the Product Owner to understand, elicit, analyse, document and communicate business requirements and articulate product vision with a strong focus on value delivery
Assists the Product Owner to define and own the value definition of Stories, including facilitating and influencing the prioritisation of the backlog
Expert in translating end user / customer insights into Epics and Stories complete with Acceptance Criteria, which can easily be understood by the development Team and Traceable
Participates in workshops
Analyse the impact of proposed solutions holistically in order to produce Business Impact Assessments
Typical Experience
At least 5+ years of experience in IT, with at least 2 years experience in a business environment coupled with tertiary level qualifications in Business, Science, Engineering or Economics.
