You will join our High-Rise Buildings Department
Join Ramboll's dedicated Highrise & Complex Buildings Department, a global team of experts that has successfully designed over 150 tall building projects worldwide, including some of the most technically challenging structures. As an Associate Structural Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in our Chennai office, supporting global operations across Copenhagen, the UK, the Middle East, and Singapore. You will coordinate with project managers and engineers to deliver world-class analysis and design solutions for Highrise projects.

  • Lead and inspire a structural engineering team, fostering collaboration and maintaining high team morale.
  • Work independently and collaboratively to deliver innovative, practical, and sustainable design solutions.
  • Manage multiple projects through all stages of design and construction, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Prepare and review structural calculations, models, reports, and presentations to an exceptional standard.
  • Present designs at internal workshops and lead external meetings with clients and consultants.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate design decisions effectively to meet client and company objectives.
  • Prepare fee proposals, bids, and competition designs in collaboration with senior colleagues.
  • Monitor and manage the commercial performance of projects, including contract management.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers and graduates while pursuing your own professional development.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, leveraging Ramboll's capabilities to deliver added value.
  • Actively contribute to technical development initiatives and maintain internal and external professional networks.
Qualifications
  • Chartered Structural Engineer with 18+ years of experience, including leadership roles on major projects.
  • Master's degree (M.Tech / MSc) in Structural Engineering.
  • Extensive experience in designing building structures for residential and commercial high-rise projects.
  • Broad design knowledge across multiple sectors (e.g., education, residential, commercial, industrial).
  • Proficiency in American, European, and Middle Eastern codes of practice.
  • Skilled in structural analysis software such as CSC Fastrak, TEDDS, ROBOT, ETABS, SAFE, and adaptable to new tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage teams of engineers and technicians across multiple projects.
  • Strong conceptual design skills with an appreciation for multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Excellent communication skills-written, verbal, and digital.
  • Proven ability to plan and monitor the commercial performance of engineering consultancy projects.
