Washing, sanitizing, and storing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment. Maintaining the cleanliness of both the kitchen and dining areas, including wiping tables and ensuring menus are clean.
Inventory and supplies:
Assisting with inventory management, restocking serving stations, and properly storing and labelling supplies.
Health and safety:
Adhering to all health and safety regulations and hygiene standards, including waste disposal and recycling protocols.
Operational support:
Assisting kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks and supporting the setup and breakdown of event spaces.
Customer service:
Clearing tables, refilling drinks, and occasionally helping with basic tasks like greeting guests or settling bills.
Required skills and qualifications
Experience:
Previous experience as a steward is preferred.
Knowledge:
Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
Skills:
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Personal attributes:
Good communication and teamwork skills, physical stamina to lift heavy objects, and flexibility to work various shifts.
