About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled

Software Engineer

with 1 to 2 years of hands-on experience in

Ruby on Rails

, along with working knowledge of

Java

, to join our dynamic engineering team. As a core member of the backend team, you will be responsible for building robust and scalable web applications, collaborating closely with product and design teams, and delivering high-quality software that meets business goals.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and enhance scalable web applications using

Ruby on Rails, and Java.

Work with MySQL databases to design and optimize schemas and queries. Write clean, maintainable, and high-performance code across multiple technologies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Identify and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, bugs, and issues across the stack. Write and maintain unit tests to ensure proper test coverage and reliability. Participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions. Contribute to architectural discussions and help drive technical decisions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

1-2 years of experience in a production environment with

Ruby on Rails

. Hands-on experience or familiarity with

Java

in backend development. Strong knowledge of

MySQL

and experience with database optimization. Solid understanding of

Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)

and design patterns. Experience writing unit tests in Ruby and/or Java. Proven ability to write efficient, performant, and maintainable code. Strong analytical and debugging skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Nice to Have

Experience working in

polyglot environments

(multiple backend technologies). Familiarity with

AWS services

(EC2, S3, Lambda, etc.). Exposure to

NoSQL databases

like DynamoDB. Knowledge of

CI/CD tools

and DevOps practices. Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and containerization tools like Docker.
