Job Purpose: To conduct and assist in pre-formulation and phase-appropriate formulation development activities to support pre-clinical and clinical studies.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Physicochemical properties assessment through pre-formulation studies for new chemical entities (NCEs). Handling and good knowledge on various analytical tools/ instruments, used in drug discovery and formulation development work in order to understand physicochemical properties of NCEs.
  • Formulation development, feasibility, and stability studies to support pre-clinical pharmacokinetics (PK), pharmacology (PD) and toxicology (safety) studies.
  • Good knowledge/ understanding on the biopharmaceutics risk assessment (in vitro) studies of drug substances and drug products.
  • Assist in oral drug product development to support clinical studies, including but not limited to oral solution, suspension, tablet, and capsule dosage forms.
  • Good knowledge/ understanding on solid state characterization of drug substances.
  • Record, summarize and present experimental data/ results appropriately and assist in drafting relevant scientific/technical reports.
  • Good working knowledge on MS office and basic scientific software/ tools, used in drug discovery and formulation development workspace.
  • Work collaboratively with internal cross-functional teams while exhibiting the core values of the department and company.
Educational Qualifications & Experience:
M. Pharm or M.S. in Pharmaceutics/ Pharmaceutical chemistry.
Technical Skills:
Physicochemical properties, Pre-formulation, Formulation Development, Formulation Stability, Biopharmaceutics, Analytical Chemistry, Solid State Characterization, Data Interpretation.
Functional/Behavioral Skills:
Team Player, Ready to Learn, Cross-Functional Collaboration, Good Writing, Communication and
Presentation skills
Interfaces & Dependencies:
Internal Candidate will be interacting with PK/ PD/ toxicology, medicinal chemistry and analytical
R&D groups
External Candidate will have occasional interactions with Syngene' clients working in discovery and
development pharmaceutics.
