About the ASSURE (Accelerating Sustainable and Super-Efficient Real Estate) project





ASSURE is a joint initiative of the Indian Institute for Human Settlements, India's premier knowledge institution working on urban transformation, and global next-generational digital services and consulting major and sustainability leader Infosys. ASSURE aims to transform India's large, rapidly growing, and carbon and energy intensive real estate sector by promoting High Performance Buildings (HPBs) at scale.





In pursuit of its goal, ASSURE will, in the coming years, offer technical assistance to India's largest developers for lighthouse projects spanning 100 million sq. ft., skill/ upskill 12,000 individuals, support 30 curated innovators, deliver a performance measurement and verification platform that incentivises HPB adoption and financing, and engage with policymakers and financial decisionmakers to usher enabling policies and financing arrangements for HPBs. In lighthouse projects, ASSURE works closely with developer teams to set realistic performance goals, guide technology and design choices, assist with implementation and O&M, and navigate financial and procurement pathways--ensuring successful delivery and operation of HPBs.








We are seeking a dynamic programme management professional who will play a critical role in supporting the design, coordination, and execution of ASSURE's multi-stakeholder initiatives. The role will manage programme operations, facilitate partnerships, and ensure effective delivery of outcomes aligned with ASSURE's mission of decarbonising India's real estate sector.





This could be either a regular position or a 11- month contractual engagement, renewable on mutual consent, with the potential to turn into a regular position over time.




Activities and Tasks





Responsibilities would include, but are not limited to, the following:


Programme coordination:
Supporting the planning, monitoring, and reporting of ASSURE's activities across technical assistance, training, and policy engagement;
Stakeholder engagement:
Liaising with government agencies, industry partners, and civil society organisations to strengthen collaborations;
Knowledge management:
Assisting in developing knowledge products, publications, and training materials for dissemination through ASSURE's Knowledge Hub;
Operational support:
Managing timelines, and documentation to ensure smooth programme execution;
Data and impact tracking:
Contributing to monitoring and evaluating frameworks to measure programme impact (energy savings, GHG reductions, jobs created);
Events:
Coordinating workshops, training sessions, and conferences of stakeholders and to build capacity in high performance building design and implementation;
Institutional:
Providing support to other IIHS activities including academics, research, training, practice, operations and others;

Participating in all activities of institution-building at IIHS; carrying out tasks as assigned by IIHS; and travelling on IIHS work within or outside the country as and when needed.




Structure and Reporting



The building simulation expert will be an External Consultant coordinating with the the Project Director - ASSURE at IIHS and will be required to collaborate effectively with a diverse group of internal teams and external individuals/ organisations.




Person Specification





The ideal candidate should have:


A Master's degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, Environmental Studies, Public Policy, or Management or equivalent; 3-5 years of relevant experience in programme management, sustainability, or stakeholder engagement; Strong organisational and project management skills with attention to detail; Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to work with diverse stakeholders; Familiarity with climate change, energy efficiency, or sustainable real estate will be an advantage; Proficiency in MS Office and project management tools.

Location





This position is based in Bengaluru, and may entail travel to other locations in India.




Review and Assessment





The role and performance of the incumbent shall be subject to normal review and assessment systems at IIHS.
