The Associate Professor in Nursing is responsible for providing academic leadership, teaching, research guidance, clinical supervision, and administrative support to ensure high standards of nursing education. The role involves mentoring students and faculty, coordinating academic programs, and contributing to the development and implementation of the curriculum as per the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and University guidelines.
Plan, prepare, and deliver lectures, demonstrations, and clinical teaching for undergraduate and/or postgraduate nursing students.
Develop lesson plans and teaching materials aligned with INC and University syllabi.
Supervise clinical and practical training in hospitals and community settings.
Evaluate student performance through assignments, tests, practicals, and examinations.
Guide undergraduate and postgraduate research projects and dissertations.
Use innovative teaching methodologies, including simulation and digital learning tools.
B. Research & Professional Development
Conduct and publish research in recognized journals.
Mentor students and junior faculty in research methodology and evidence-based practice.
Participate in seminars, workshops, and conferences for professional growth.
Collaborate in interdepartmental or interdisciplinary research activities.
C. Administrative & Leadership Roles
Participate in academic committees (curriculum development, examination, IQAC, etc.).
Assist the Principal/Vice Principal in academic planning and quality assurance.
Supervise and mentor Assistant Professors and Tutors.
Maintain academic records, student progress reports, and attendance.
Contribute to accreditation, inspection, and documentation processes (e.g., INC, State Nursing Council, University).
D. Clinical & Community Engagement
Coordinate and supervise students during clinical postings in hospitals, PHCs, CHCs, and community settings.
Ensure adherence to ethical and professional standards in nursing practice.
Liaise with clinical partners and maintain effective hospital relationships.
Promote community health programs and extension activities.
