Position Summary:

The Department of [Biological Sciences / Microbiology] at [University Name] invites applications for a full-time Associate Professor position in

Microbiology

. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the department's teaching, research, and service missions, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, and maintain an active, externally funded research program in microbiology or a closely related field.

Key Responsibilities:Teaching & Mentorship:

Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in microbiology and related subjects. Supervise research projects, theses, and dissertations. Mentor and advise students in academic and professional development.

Research:

Develop and maintain an independent, high-quality research program. Pursue external funding through grants and research collaborations. Publish in peer-reviewed scientific journals and present at academic conferences.

Service:

Serve on departmental, college, and university committees. Participate in curriculum development and academic planning. Contribute to outreach and community engagement initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

MBBS + MD, Ph.D. in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, or a related field. Demonstrated excellence in teaching and curriculum development. A strong record of peer-reviewed publications in microbiology. Evidence of obtaining external research funding. Experience supervising undergraduate and/or graduate research.

Preferred Qualifications:

Postdoctoral experience. Demonstrated leadership in academic or research initiatives. Interdisciplinary research experience. Experience with modern microbiological techniques (e.g., genomics, bioinformatics, microbial ecology, or pathogenesis).
Qualification - MBBS, MS/MD, PhD
