Position Overview

The Associate Professor in Information Science & Engineering (ISE) will support academic excellence through effective teaching, research output, departmental leadership, and student mentoring. The ideal candidate must have strong subject expertise in Information Science, proven research record, and the ability to contribute to departmental and institutional development.

Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Academic Delivery

Teach UG courses in Information Science & related CSE subjects. Prepare and deliver well-structured lectures, lesson plans, and evaluation components. Guide final-year projects, internships, and technical problem-solving activities.

Research & Publications

Conduct research in Information Technology, Data Engineering, Networks, Cyber Security, AI/ML, and related areas. Publish papers in SCI/SCOPUS-indexed journals and reputed conferences. Guide PG/UG students in dissertations and research work. Work towards funded projects, patents, and setting up research labs.

Departmental Leadership

Support Head of Department in academic planning and departmental functioning. Mentor Assistant Professors and help improve their teaching and research skills. Contribute to syllabus design, curriculum enhancement, and Outcome-Based Education (OBE). Play an active role in NBA/NAAC accreditation, documentation, and quality processes.

Industry & Academia Collaboration

Foster collaborations with IT companies, research institutions, and technical bodies. Promote industry internships, certification courses, and industry-oriented training modules for students. Contribute to seminars, workshops, technical competitions, and FDPs.

Institutional Services

Serve on college committees, exam boards, and administrative panels. Maintain discipline, academic integrity, and professional ethics. Participate in institutional development, policy formulation, and quality improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications (As per AICTE / VTU Norms)

B.E./B.Tech.

and

M.E./M.Tech.

in Information Science & Engineering / Computer Science & Engineering with

First Class or Equivalent

Ph.D. (Mandatory)

in Information Science / CSE / related specialization from a recognized technical university. Academic & research experience as per

AICTE/VTU norms

for Associate Professor. Demonstrated research contributions (publications, projects, patents, etc.). Strong knowledge of OBE, academic systems, and curriculum development.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Expertise in IT, Data Analytics, Networks, AI/ML, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, Database Systems, or similar domains. Experience guiding PG/UG research projects and handling departmental responsibilities. Strong communication, mentoring, and leadership qualities. Candidates living in Ballari or willing to relocate are preferred.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ?75,000.00 - ?90,000.00 per month
