PROCESS BRIEF/ SUB-PROCESS BRIEF
FactSet’s Product Development department is responsible for implementing new products and enhancing existing ones. The mission of the department is to deliver simple, world-class solutions by collaborating with clients to understand their needs, with cross-functional project teams to share those insights, and with Sales to bring our solutions to market.
The Analytics group develops applications and solutions which facilitate tasks for portfolio managers, researchers, risk analysts, and performance analysts. Group members have strong financial backgrounds and understand the workflow of each of these investment professional types.
As investment demands increase, and asset types become more complex, investors need further insight into performance and attribution across their organizations. One of the greatest challenges faced by front and middle office teams is the firm-wide integration, validation, and delivery of consistent data. Together, FactSet and BISAM, a FactSet company, serve critical workflows throughout the portfolio lifecycle by providing consistent performance and attribution data.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Efficient resource and work/tasks/projects allocation among team members considering business/client priorities with help of product manager(s).
  • If required, rotate the tasks to make sure no major dependency in the team.
  • Active participation in recruitment of new team members.
  • Direct and execute training, coaching, and mentoring to develop team members
  • Solve team issues/conflicts whenever required
  • Develop and maintain internal documentation used within the team.
  • Have a clear understanding of the clients’ needs and workflows
  • Be the first line of defense to answer questions related to Portfolio Analysis, performance and attribution related products from sales/consulting and reconciliation team
  • Identify and respond to client demand for new initiatives and enhancements to analytics solutions
  • Participate in product focused rotations designed to teach the portfolio management process and provide exposure to multiple aspects of the Portfolio Analysis application
  • Develop requirements’ specifications and test cases from business requirements and help engineering to understand the same.
  • Work with the design team to develop Portfolio Analysis, performance and attribution related application’s features
  • Work with engineers to fix bugs, test enhancements, and manage releases and client migrations
  • Work with Knowledge Management team to help write documentation as well as internal and external client communications
  • Ensure the ongoing quality of the Portfolio Analysis products
  • Actively manage and share ideas to improve work processes and output

Eligibility criteria –Skills required, Education & Experiences
  • Undergraduate (Bachelor's) degree in Math/ Science/Statistics/ Engineering/ Finance or related field
  • MBA Finance or Master’s degree in some combination Mathematics/Statistics/Finance
  • 1-5 years of experience dealing with portfolio analysis/equity analysis/fixed income analysis at both conceptual and application level, at least 1 year of team handling experience
  • Articulate communicator, with excellent language skills – both oral and written
  • Has good understanding of financial clients’ needs and workflows
  • Liaise effectively (both written and oral) with engineers and data providers
  • Ability to work independently and within a group
  • Interest in learning modern technologies/knowledge
  • Basic understanding of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) & PDLC (Product Development Life Cycle)
  • Prominent level of motivation
  • Proficiency with Excel

Preferred Skills/qualifications/certification
  • Working towards CFA/FRM/CIPM
  • Technical skills: VBA/SQL
  • Prior experience with FACTSET platform
