About the role



This position serves as the primary liaison between the school and the parent community. This role is crucial in fostering strong relationships between parents, students, and the school, ensuring open communication and addressing parent concerns. The Parent Relations Officer will work closely with school leadership, teachers, and administrative staff to promote a positive school environment and enhance parental involvement in school activities.



What you will be doing





Act as the first point of contact for parents, addressing inquiries, concerns, and requests in a timely and professional manner.

Develop and maintain effective communication channels, including newsletters, emails, social media, and school websites, to keep parents informed of school news, events, and policies.

Coordinate parent meetings, including parent-teacher conferences, workshops, and special events.

Foster strong, positive relationships between the school and the parent community.

Organize and participate in events that encourage parent involvement in school activities, such as volunteer programs, fundraising events, and school committees.

Work with the school's leadership team to identify and address areas for improvement in parent engagement and satisfaction.

Mediate and resolve conflicts between parents and school staff, ensuring fair and constructive outcomes.

Maintain a neutral and professional stance in all interactions, safeguarding the interests of both the school and the parent community.

Collect, analyse, and report on parent feedback to help improve school policies and practices.

Implement strategies to increase parent satisfaction and address common concerns.

Conduct surveys and focus groups to gather input from parents on various school matters.

Provide support to parents navigating school processes, such as admissions, transitions, and accessing school resources.

Assist in organizing orientation sessions for new parents and students to ensure a smooth introduction to the school environment.

Work with school counsellors to provide additional support to families as needed.

Collaborate with teachers, administrative staff, and the school leadership team to ensure consistent and clear communication with parents.

Act as a liaison between the school and the parent-teacher association (PTA), supporting their initiatives and facilitating cooperation.

Maintain accurate records of parent interactions, events, and feedback.

Prepare reports for the school leadership on parent engagement and satisfaction.

Assist in the development and implementation of school policies related to parent involvement.



Who we are looking for:



Position Requirements:



Experience in educational administration or school counselling.

Fluency in multiple languages, depending on the parent community's demographics.

Familiarity with the local education system and community resources.



Qualifications:



Bachelor's degree in education, communication, or a related field.

Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within an educational setting.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Strong problem-solving abilities and conflict resolution skills.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Proficiency in using communication tools and technology, such as email, social media, and school management systems.
