Additional Roles & Responsibilities:

The VVOE Specialist is a critical role within the mortgage operations department, responsible for performing and documenting the required Verbal Verification of Employment (VVOE) for all eligible borrowers in accordance with investor (Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac) and regulatory guidelines. Conduct verbal verifications of employment for borrowers and co-borrowers within the required timeframe (typically 10 business days prior to the Note Date). Independently obtain and verify employer contact information (phone number and address) using approved sources such as telephone directories, the internet, or licensing bureaus, to ensure compliance with lending guidelines. Contact employers (e.g., HR departments, payroll services, or supervisors) to verbally confirm the borrower's current employment status and verify that no adverse changes have occurred since the initial loan application. Identify, communicate, and resolve discrepancies or issues found during the verification process (e.g., a borrower being on temporary leave, a recent change in employment) with the Loan Processor and/or Underwriter. Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of experience in a high-volume, professional setting, preferably in mortgage operations, banking, or a call centre environment. Exceptional verbal communication and phone etiquette for professional interaction with employers. Superior attention to detail to accurately transcribe and document verification information. Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage a high-volume daily workload. * Comfortable with computer systems, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to quickly learn and navigate a Loan Origination System (LOS).
