Practice Overview:
The Risk Advisory Services Practice (RAS), part of the Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) Practice, offers expert support to banking clients in addressing critical risk and regulatory issues. Our risk team delivers solutions to financial institutions through various services, including model risk management (encompassing model development and validation), stress testing and scenario analysis, and credit review services, which involve thorough portfolio and loan assessments, as well as other risk-related offerings. Many of our projects require strong quantitative skills, including mathematical aptitude, coding experience, statistical analysis, and a solid understanding of the banking industry. Team members possess academic qualifications in finance, economics, or econometrics. In addition to essential model validation tasks, this role may include supporting valuation-related projects and providing insights into the assessment and modeling of financial instruments. This position is well-suited for candidates who want to engage in diverse projects and develop expertise in model risk and valuation areas.
Role Overview:
We're looking for an Associate position based in Gurgaon with expertise in Model Validation. As a member of the Ankura Valuation, Model Risk Management (Risk Advisory) team, the Associate will primarily assist in advisory engagements in a fast-paced, service-oriented business environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Associates play a vital role in project teams, contributing to the preparation of client deliverables. Responsibilities include:Developing financial models in Excel, R, or Python Conducting model testing (back-testing, sensitivity analysis, stress testing, etc.) Assisting with bespoke model development, deconstruction, and replication Designing and maintaining databases to store and aggregate information

Beyond core validation tasks, associates will support valuation work across financial reporting, tax reporting, litigation/arbitration, and disputes. This includes exposure to:Business enterprise valuation (BEV) Security and derivative analysis (options, warrants, complex instruments)

This role is ideal for candidates seeking to contribute to diverse projects and deepen expertise in model risk and valuation.
The ideal candidate should possess 1-2 years of experience in several key areas, including but not limited to:In-depth understanding of regulatory frameworks and guidance, specifically SR 11-7 / OCC 2011-12 (Guidance on Model Risk Management) and relevant CECL/DFAST/CCAR requirements. Financial services model validation Liquidity and stress testing models Asset-liability models Anti-Money Laundering (AML) / Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Fraud detection and prevention Valuation of securities, options, warrants

Qualifications:Master's degree in economics, statistics, finance, or business from an accredited institution Professional certifications preferred (FRM, PRM, CFA) Strong knowledge of: + Cash flow concepts and discounted cash flow (DCF)
+ Option pricing models (e.g., Black-Scholes)
+ Alternative investments
+ Tangible and intangible valuations
+ Fixed income instruments


Technical Skills:Programming in R and Python Proficiency in SAS or other statistical software packages Programming in other computer languages (desired but not required) Financial modeling using spreadsheets or databases Proficiency in Excel Use of large-scale relational databases (e.g., SQL, Oracle) Interpretation and critical analysis of corporate/banking financial statements
