Job Description




To support the Center of Excellence in

driving process standardization, operational excellence, cost optimization, digital initiatives, and best practices

across steel plant operations, ensuring continuous improvement, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Process Excellence & Standardization

Support development and implementation of

standard operating procedures (SOPs)

across plant functions (Production, Maintenance, Quality, Safety, Logistics). Ensure

uniform process adoption

across locations/plants. Conduct

process audits

and gap analysis to identify improvement opportunities.

2. Continuous Improvement & Lean Initiatives

Drive

Lean Manufacturing, FMEA, TPM, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and 5S initiatives

. Facilitate

root cause analysis (RCA)

for operational issues and implement corrective/preventive actions. Track and report

improvement project outcomes

(cost savings, productivity, quality).

3. Data Analytics & Performance Monitoring

Analyze

operational KPIs

(Yield, Recovery, Downtime, OEE, Cost/Ton, Energy Consumption). Prepare

MIS, dashboards, and performance reports

for leadership reviews. Support data-driven decision-making using Excel / BI tools.

4. Cross-Functional Coordination

Work closely with

Production, Maintenance, Quality, Safety, and Finance

teams. Act as a

single-point coordination

for CoE-led initiatives across departments.

5. Digital & Automation Support

Assist in implementation of

digital transformation initiatives

(MES, ERP, dashboards, automation tools). Support system adoption, user training, and post-implementation reviews.

6. Compliance & Best Practices

Ensure alignment with

ISO standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001)

and statutory requirements. Benchmark internal processes against

industry best practices

.

Key Deliverables

Standardized SOPs and process documentation Improvement projects with measurable savings KPI dashboards and management reports Audit findings and closure reports Successful rollout of CoE initiatives

Qualifications

B.Tech / BE

in Mechanical / Metallurgical / Electrical / Industrial Engineering

MBA / PGDM (Operations / Strategy / Analytics)

- Preferred

Experience

2-4 years

of experience in

Steel /Manufacturing / Processing industries

Hands-on exposure to

plant operations, process improvement, or operational excellence

Experience in

Lean / Six Sigma / TPM/QMS projects

is desirable Hand on experience of MS Office & Power BI, Dashboard.

Skill Set

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Knowledge of steel manufacturing processing. Advanced Excel, MIS & reporting skills Stakeholder management & communication skills Project management mindset SAP desirable
