About the role:
The Associate Manager, Finance role will be accountable for ensuring timely closure of the books of accounts, managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, Treasury and Forex, Core Accounting, Statutory and Tax Audits, Secretarial and Legal Compliance, Direct and Indirect taxes, in a dynamic business environment.
What you would be expected to do:
1. Monthly closure of books of account:

  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare, review, and finalize abridged financial statements with appropriate analytical review.
  • Reconcile books of accounts, identify variances, and resolve inconsistencies in a timely manner.
2. Taxation, compliance monitoring and audits:
  • Manage all direct and indirect tax compliances, statutory filings, assessments, and audits.
  • Review and strengthen tax and compliance processes, resolve outstanding issues, and drive improvements.
  • Maintain a monthly compliance dashboard to ensure timely statutory payments and filings.
  • Oversee planning and closure of statutory, tax, GST, secretarial, internal, and external audits.
  • Lead the planning, execution and completion of Direct Tax compliances: i) annual Income Tax Return filing, ii) Transfer Pricing related filings and study reports, iii) monthly review and timely payments of TDS and TCS liabilities, iv) quarterly filing of TDS and TCS returns and reconciliation with books of account, v) timely circulation of TDS and TCS certificates, vi) Reconciliation and review of TDS receivable as per books vs Form 26AS and associated follow ups, vii) any tax assessments as and when initiated.
  • Lead the planning, execution and completion of Indirect Tax compliances: i) monthly review and filing of all GST returns for all the GSTIN's of the Company within due dates, including the ISD working and returns ii) timely payment of taxes after proper review of input tax credit availed during the month, iii) review and ensure various reconciliations required for filing GST returns including 2A/2B reco, books vs returns reco, GSTR 1 vs 3B liability reco, iv) ensure default vendor follow ups and recovery of ITC lost are done on a monthly basis, v) prepare and review annual return filings and reconciliation statement, vi) prepare and submit refund applications for export of goods/services and liaise with department, vii) liaise with Customs for duty drawback claims, viii) any tax assessments as and when initiated.
3. Legal and Secretarial Compliance:
  • Assist in review and execution of company agreements and contractual documentation.
  • Manage end-to-end secretarial compliances, including board and shareholder meetings, statutory records, and regulatory filings.
  • Ensure timely filing of annual returns, XBRL financials, and other statutory submissions.
  • Maintaining records and ensuring timely filings for the Directors of the Company like their KYC, vii) other filings like DPT-3, MSME, FLA and LEIL with RBI etc., viii) assist in incorporation of new entities as and when the need arises.
4. Account Payable Management and Banking relations:
  • Oversee accounts payable operations, including invoice booking, vendor payments, and employee reimbursements.
  • Maintain accurate accounting of expenses, GST credits, TDS deductions, and compliance with purchase orders and agreements.
  • Monitor outstanding payables and perform bank reconciliations, GR-IR, COGS, and related control account clearances.
  • Coordinate inter-branch reconciliations, liaise with banks for remittances, import/export transactions, FEMA compliance, and forex management.
  • Reconcile IDPMS and EDPMS items and coordinate for timely closure.
5. Other aspects:
  • Ensure effective coordination with Operations and Sales teams on business and finance-related matters.
  • Resolve accounting issues and queries promptly, prioritizing items impacting financial records.
  • Review accounts receivable balances, drive timely collections, and assess provisioning requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, recommend process enhancements, and escalate critical matters as required.
You might be a strong candidate if you have/are:
  • A Chartered Accountant qualification
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in controllership, auditing, accounting or taxation
  • A clear thinking / problem solving ability, able to oversee projects/process improvement initiatives within the organization
  • Fluent in written and verbal English communication
  • Proficient in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
