Job Summary

The Associate - IPD Pharmacy is responsible for managing in-patient pharmacy stock, dispensing medicines accurately to patient bedsides, ensuring compliance with NABH standards for medication management, and coordinating clinical documentation within patient booklets. The role requires strong coordination with nurses, RMOs, consultants, and the main pharmacy store to ensure accurate drug administration, timely replenishment, complete patient documentation, and high-quality patient care.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

1.IPD Pharmacy Stock Management & Bedside Dispensing

a.Maintain optimal stock levels of medicines and consumables in the IPD pharmacy as per par levels.

b.Dispense medicines accurately and promptly to patient bedsides based on prescriptions from RMOs and consultants.

c.Coordinate continuously with the main pharmacy store to ensure uninterrupted supply and avoid stockouts.

d.Track inventory movements, monitor expiries, maintain documentation of inward/outward stock transactions and ensure proper storage of medicines.

2.Medication Error Monitoring, Drug Interaction Checks & Training

a.Monitor prescriptions and medication administration for potential drug interactions, duplications, contraindications, and allergy risks.

b.Identify, document, and support resolution of medication errors by RMOs or nursing staff as per NABH standards.

c.Escalate high-risk findings to the clinical supervisors for timely action.

d.Conduct training sessions for IPD staff on safe medication practices, proper documentation, and medication storage.

3.IPD Documentation, Patient Booklet Completion & NABH Compliance

a.Ensure 100% completion of patient documentation in the patient booklet, including medication charts, drug administration records, prescription updates, treatment protocols, and procedure notes (as applicable).

b.Coordinate with the Front Office, RMOs & Consultants, and with the nursing team to collect all relevant information regarding the patient for the documentation.

c.Regularly audit patient booklets to keep up with NABH documentation standards, and collaborate with the Quality teams during external NABH audits.

Key Skills & Qualifications

1.Education: D.Pharm / B.Pharm degree with State Pharmacy Council registration.

2.Experience: 1-3 years in a hospital pharmacy (IPD experience and NABH documentation knowledge preferred).

3.Strong knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations, drug interactions, and medication safety, along with excellent coordination skills with clinical teams.

4.Ability to work accurately under time-sensitive situations while maintaining strong error-free patient documentation.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
