Role Overview
We are looking for an
Associate
with 1-3 years of post-qualification experience in
Insolvency and Bankruptcy Law
to join our dynamic team in Mumbai. The role involves working on corporate insolvency resolution processes, liquidation proceedings, and related litigation before various adjudicating authorities and appellate forums.
The ideal candidate should have strong drafting skills, an analytical mindset, and the ability to manage multiple matters efficiently while supporting senior team members.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in handling matters under the
Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016
, including CIRP, liquidation, and voluntary liquidation.
Draft and review pleadings, applications, replies, affidavits, and written submissions for proceedings before
NCLT, NCLAT, and other judicial/quasi-judicial authorities
.
Conduct detailed
legal and factual research
on issues arising under the IBC and related corporate and financial laws.
Liaise with
Resolution Professionals, Liquidators, Committee of Creditors (CoC) members, and corporate debtors
for case coordination and information gathering.
Prepare case summaries, maintain trackers, and assist in hearing preparations and strategy discussions.
Support senior associates and partners in
advisory assignments, due diligence, and transaction structuring
under the IBC.
Coordinate with clients, external counsels, and stakeholders to ensure timely filings and procedural compliance.
Stay updated on recent
judicial precedents, circulars, and amendments
relating to insolvency and restructuring.
Uphold the firm's core values in all deliverables and client interactions.
Qualifications & Skills
LL.B. (and preferably LL.M.) from a reputed law school.
1-3 years PQE with a strong grounding in
Insolvency and Bankruptcy law, company law, and related litigation
.
Experience appearing before or assisting in matters before
NCLT/NCLAT
.
Good understanding of corporate and commercial laws (Contract Act, Companies Act, SARFAESI Act, etc.).
Strong drafting, research, and analytical skills.
Proficiency in legal research databases (SCC Online, Manupatra, etc.).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team and handle multiple tasks under supervision.
Demonstrated professionalism, diligence, and attention to detail.
Preferred Experience
Exposure to
CIRP, liquidation, avoidance transactions, and IBC litigation
.
Familiarity with drafting
claims, transaction audit reports, and RP communications
.
Prior experience in
IBC advisory or restructuring assignments
.
An understanding of financial concepts and corporate governance principles will be an advantage.
