Job Purpose: The Site Maintenance Manager / Maintenance Lead is responsible for managing all on-site maintenance activities across civil, electrical, and mechanical domains within coal mining operations. This role focuses on executing maintenance plans, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Reporting to the Project Manager (Maintenance), the role involves supervising on-site teams, optimizing maintenance schedules, and implementing digital tools to enhance equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
Responsibilities:
Site Maintenance Manager or Maintenance Lead - Coal Mining
Planning and Documentation:
Assist in developing site-specific maintenance schedules, plans, and budget estimates for civil, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Prepare and update documentation related to maintenance procedures, compliance checklists, and safety protocols.
Maintain accurate records of site maintenance activities, equipment performance, and modifications.
Support the Project Manager in reviewing and updating maintenance plans to align with project goals.
Project Maintenance Execution:
Execute maintenance projects on-site, ensuring adherence to timelines, standards, and safety regulations.
Supervise on-site teams during the installation, commissioning, and testing of new equipment and systems.
Identify and resolve technical issues during maintenance execution to minimize disruptions.
Coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure project specifications and quality standards are met.
Operations and Maintenance:
Oversee day-to-day maintenance activities, focusing on preventive and corrective maintenance to optimize equipment performance.
Conduct inspections and quality checks on civil, electrical, and mechanical maintenance tasks to ensure compliance with standards.
Implement preventive maintenance strategies to reduce unplanned downtime and enhance asset reliability.
Track and report maintenance KPIs such as equipment uptime, response times, and cost savings to the Project Manager.
Stakeholder Coordination and Quality:
Collaborate with on-site contractors, engineers, and internal departments to ensure smooth maintenance operations.
Participate in regular site meetings to discuss maintenance schedules, safety concerns, and project updates.
Facilitate communication among stakeholders to resolve maintenance-related challenges efficiently.
Ensure adherence to quality standards and safety protocols through periodic audits and inspections.
Digitalization and Automation:
Implement digital tools for monitoring equipment health, optimizing maintenance schedules, and reducing manual interventions.
Conduct training sessions for site teams on the effective use of digital maintenance tools and automation technologies.
Leverage data analytics to enhance predictive maintenance strategies and improve asset performance.
Report insights from digital tools to the Project Manager to drive continuous improvements in maintenance practices.
